Drawing musical influence from his childhood favourite artists like George Benson, A Tribe Called Quest, James Brown, Jodeci, De La Soul, Lou Rawls or Ray Barretto; DJ CMAN is today one of Sydney’s most versatile and in demand multi-genre groove selectors. Combining dynamic skill, music knowledge and a flare for the dramatic or unexpected; music wise you’ll get the vintage with the new, popular with the obscure all cleverly intertwined into a trademark styled set.
Being the only son of an ex-record shop owner, much of CMAN’s youth was spent listening to records, lots of records, across a multitude of genres. Today he enjoys fusing many of his favourite elements with a finely tuned ear, and an ability to easily transition through different genres taking party goers on a soulful journey from Funk to Bossa, Reggae to Disco, Hip Hop to Boogaloo, and all things in between.
From rocking crowds at music festivals on the beach in Malaysia to the snowfields of Victoria, or tightly packed dungeons in the sprawling streets of Lisbon and Madrid to upscale establishments in Sydney and sweaty underground warehouse parties; DJ CMAN has carved out a name for himself with his signature ‘funky feel good’ sets which keep the toes tappin’, heads boppin’ and booty’s movin’ for both fresh-faced party goers and seasoned music heads alike.
